Corvus is a constellation dating back to classical times, representing a crow sent by the god Apollo to collect a cup containing the water of life (and that cup is represented by the neighbouring constellation of Crater). Probably the most notable objects within Corvus are the Antennae Galaxies, a pair of galaxies some 45 million light years from the Milky Way, whose interactionn with one another to create tendrils of material spiralling into space.
Corvus lies in the direction of the distant Sagittarius Arm, but somewhat 'above' the plane of
the Milky Way.
A small but bright constellation of the southern sky.
