HR 1260 is one of several hundred stars that make up the open cluster Collinder 45 in Camelopardalis. It lies on a very near line of sight with another member of the cluster, the variable SZ Camelopardalis, and the two stars are classified as an optical binary, but they are in fact separated from one another by a considerable distance..
