NotesA pale yellow F-type star on the boundary between the subgiant and giant classifications, the Head of Hydrus is desigated Alpha Hydri (although it is in fact marginally fainter than the Beta star of its constellation). The Head of Hydrus is a rather larger and hotter star than the Sun, being some 2.6 times the Sun's diameter and mearly thirty times as luminous.
