This white star is most visible in the months around November,
but only to observers in the Earth's southern hemisphere. Its
magnitude of +4.93 puts it on the limit of naked eye visibility. The main
star of this binary system is rather more massive and
luminous than the Sun, falling into the category known as
'subgiants', but at 244 light years' distance, it is
not easy to see from Earth.
