The borders of Leo Minor are so arranged that a strip of sky extends southwards into the larger constellation of Leo, and 41 Leonis Minoris lies near the southern tip of this extended region. This places the fifth-magnitude star to the eastward of the Sickle formation representing Leo's head, and northward of the reclining Lion's back.

41 Leonis Minoris is a white main sequence star with no known stellar or planetary companions. Its white colouration shows that it is considerable hotter than the yellow Sun, and it is more than double the Sun's mass and diameter. Perhaps its most distinguishing feature is extremely rapid rate of rotation: 41 Leonis Minoris rotates on its axis at some 200 km/s, a rotation rate about a hundred times faster than that of the Sun.
