The remnant of a star more than nine hundred light years from the Sun that underwent a supernova an estimated 11,000 years ago. The resulting material has spread from the site of the explosion to form a diffuse veil covering an area of the sky some eight degrees across, spanning a region of space more than a hundred light years from side to side.
