Kiang is a small asteroid, first identified in 1983 and named for astronomer Tao Kiang, who had a particular interest in the orbital elements of asteroids. Asteroid 3751 Kiang follows a path around the outer edge of the Solar System'sAsteroid Belt.
The path of Kiang's orbit carries it around the outer fringes of the Asteroid Belt in a period of five years and 217 days.
A minor asteroid with an orbit lying between those of Mars and Jupiter, some 471 million kilometres from the Sun.
