A complex and prominent crater within the Mare Nubium in the southwestern quadrant of the Moon's visible face, Bullialdus has terraced crater walls and a group of tall central peaks. Southward of Bullialdus itself lie Bullialdus A and Bullialdus B, two smaller craters but each more than 20 km in diameter.
