Notes	A red dwarf star notable for its proximity to the Solar System; it lies just under eleven light years from the Sun. This is a tiny, faint star, emitting a fraction of the energy of the Sun, but its nature as a flare star means that it can at rare times shine briefly brighter than normal.

One of the cloud of faint red dwarf stars that surround the Solar System, far too faint for the naked eye to detect. FI Virginis (or Ross 128) is a little over ten light years from the Sun, near the line of the Ecliptic in the constellation of Virgo.
