The eruptive variable V380 Cephei lies within a cloud of dark dust spreading through western Cepheus, and the blue light of this young star illuminates the particles in its vicinity. The resulting nebula, Caldwell 4 or NGC 7023, forms an approximately flower-like shape, and is given the common name of the Iris Nebula. Imagery provided by Aladin sky atlas
