The distant giant HR 6841 shines out against the dense backdrop of M24, the Sagittarius Star Cloud. This is not in fact a single star, but a pair of intensely hot O-type giants in a mutual orbit, shining with a luminosity eight hundred times that of the Sun. Imagery provided by Aladin sky atlas
