Rho3 Arietis forms the eastern vertex of a triangle with the two other 'Rho' stars of Aries. Despite their shared 'Rho' designation, these three stars are unconnected, and each of the others is more distant from the Sun than Rho3. To the north and slightly to the west of Rho3 is red Rho2 Arietis (or 45 Arietis), the brightest and also the most distant of the three. To the southwest is the fainter white star Rho1 Arietis (or 44 Arietis). Imagery provided by Aladin sky atlas

A bright yellow dwarf star, Rho3 Arietis is of a similar mass to our own Sun, but is somewhat more luminous. Approximately 120 light years from Earth, it shines with a magnitude of +5.59, and is barely perceptible without optical aid.
