LP Trianguli Australis is a variable star of the Alpha2 Canum Venaticorum class, notable for an unusually intense magnetic field and an abundance of the element silicon. Internal processes within the star cause the consistency of its atmosphere to change as it rotates, so that its brightness oscillates slightly over a period of 3.8 days.
