Blue Kappa Draconis lies in the middle of a short line of stars forming part of the tail of Draco the Dragon. On the Flamsteed system, counting from south to north, the three bright stars here are 4 Draconis, 5 Draconis (Kappa itself) and 6 Draconis. 4 and 6 Draconis are red and orange giant stars considerably more distant from the Sun than central Kappa Draconis. Also visible to the extreme west (right) of this image is a prominent barred spiral galaxy designated C3 or NGC 4236. Imagery provided by Aladin sky atlas
