HD 96564, seen among the swarming stars in the eastern part of the Wishing Well Cluster, NGC 3532 in Carina. Imagery provided by Aladin sky atlas

Despite being a hot and highly luminous blue-white subgiant, this star is much too far away (almost 1,600 light years) to shine brightly in the sky. It forms part of the large and complex group of stars known as the Wishing Well Cluster.
