A double star in the southern constellation of Telescopium , comprising a white main sequence star designated HD 183845 A, shining faintly at eleventh magnitude , and an even fainter twelfth magnitude star close by to the north, designated HD 183845 B. This pair is listed in the Index Catalogue as a multiple star with the catalogue number IC 4868, although in fact the stars seem to represent an optical double . The two stars appear to be close together as seen from Earth , but based on their parallax values, they lie some 1,300 light years away, and are actually separated from one another by a distance of more than a hundred light years .
