NotesGorgonea Quarta is an evolved giant star, whose outer layers have expanded to nearly twenty times the diameter of the Sun. In common with giants of this kind, however, the star is considerably less dense than the Sun, so that, despite its size, it has only about twice the Sun's mass.

The fourth of the four Algolian 'demon' stars is Gorgonea Quarta, a giant orange star with no known companion stars or planets. The Gorgonea of its name is a reference to the head of the Gorgon Medusa, whose severed head Perseus is represented as carrying in his hand.
