The fainter star seen here to the southwest of Chi Ceti is the variableyellowdwarf EZ Ceti. The two stars lie less than two light years apart, and both display similar proper motion, implying that they are related to one another. EZ Ceti may indeed represent a distantly outlying member of the Chi Ceti system, and some sources designate the star 'Chi Ceti B'. Imagery provided by Aladin sky atlas
