A bright yellow dwarf star whose spectrum suggests that it is slightly more massive and more luminous than the Sun.

Visible here to the east (left) of Beta Comae Berenices are various distant galaxies. The most prominent of these is spiral NGC 5032, with a less extensive lenticular galaxy NGC 5032B to its immediate south. Imagery provided by Aladin sky atlas
