BD +56 1638 shines faintly in the foreground of a rich field of galaxies beyond the handle of the Plough. Both of the other brighter objects in this image are actually galaxies, not stars, with the barred spiral PGC 2511426 to the immediate southwest of BD +56 1638, and the plain spiral PGC 2512811 near the image's northeastern corner.
