Imagery provided by Aladin sky atlas
The Galactic position and direction of Alpha Microscopii relative to Earth's Sun. Note that, at this extreme scale, the two stars are effectively in the same place.
A yellow giant in the faint constellation of Microscopium. Its considerable distance from the Solar System, nearly four hundred light years, makes this highly luminous star appear as faint as the other stars in this inconspicuous group.
