Xami (Alpha Circini), the brightest star in the constellation Circinus, lies in a dense area of the Milky Way.

A pale yellow star of the F-type classification, Xami or Alpha Circini lies relatively close to the Earth on a cosmic scale: just fifty light years beyond the much better-known Alpha Centauri or Rigil Kentaurus.
