More than one hundred light years from Earth, 79 Ceti is a star similar to the Sun in many ways, though considerably larger and more luminous. It has recently been discovered to possess a planet, somewhat less massive than Saturn. This planet orbits very close to its parent star: the radius of its orbit around 79 Ceti is comparable with Mercury's around the Sun.
