60 Orionis is a whitemain sequencestar, and therefore rather hotter than the Sun (in fact, it generates about 150 times as much energy and is about three times as massive). The primarystar has a binary companion, about which little is known except that it orbits at a distance of more than 2,500 AU from the main whitestar. 60 Orionis is a variable star, showing minor variations in brightness over irregular periods.
