One of two known planetsorbiting the Sun-like star Kepler-59, Kepler-59 c belongs to the type known as 'Super Earths': it appears to have a solid surface, but is nearly twice the diameter of Earth itself. Both the planets in this system pursue rapid orbits very close to their parent star.
