The status of this object is uncertain. If this is a planet, then it is a gas giant with an exceptional mass, more than twenty times that of Jupiter. Many sources prefer to classify it as a low-mass companion star of the reddwarfclassification (designated GQ Lupi B), rather than an extremely high-massplanet.
