Gliese 3293 is a reddwarf some sixty-six light years from the Sun in the constellation of Eridanus. The apparently much brighterstar seen here to the east (left) is HD 28521, which at eighth magnitude is actually too faint to be seen with the naked eye. HD 28521 is a much more distant object than Gliese 3293, but also much more luminous than the faintly glowing reddwarf. Imagery provided by Aladin sky atlas
