BD +26 1888 is a faint star, with less than a fifth of the luminosity of the Sun. It therefore appears exceptionally faint in the sky (for comparison, the brighter star to the south, seventh-magnitudeHD 77313, is some six times more distant, but a much more luminousgiantstar). BD +26 1888 also shares this region of the sky with a number of galaxies, most notably the intermediate spiralNGC 2735 to the northeast. Imagery provided by Aladin sky atlas
