NGC 4453 and the other galaxies in its field are distant and faint objects. The apparently elongated southern spiral arm of NGC 4453 is in fact another smaller spiral galaxy on the same line of sight, designated PGC 4537402. Southward of this pair is PGC 4328329, another spiral galaxy, but one more than twice as far from the Milky Way as either of its neighbours in the sky. Imagery provided by Aladin sky atlas
