NotesThis object is listed as an open cluster in the New General Catalogue, as well as the Collinder and Melotte catalogues. Deeper analysis, however, shows that the stars in this grouping are actually separated from one another by as much as a thousand light years, and so this 'cluster' is actually a small asterism, a group of unrelated stars on a similar line of sight from Earth.
