This infrared view of southern Cepheus reveals the Cepheus Bubble, an expanding shell of interstellar material connected with the Cepheus O B2 Association. The brighter region on the Bubble's southern rim in the H II region known as the Elephant's Trunk Nebula or IC 1396, representing one of the busiest parts of the Association, and containing the cluster Trumpler 37.
